Kirisun PT558 licence-free walkie talkieWalkie-talkies that conform to the UK and EU standard for radios that can be bought and used by anyone with no requirement for an Ofcom Licence are called "PMR446" radios.

Kirisun supply the PT558 which is a PMR446, licence-free walkie-talkie radio.

PMR446 radios can only have ½ watt of output power, and must use a prescribed set of frequencies around 446MHz (hence the name of the standard "PMR446").

This means that PMR446 radios will have less of a range than the more powerful radios, which do require a licence.

Since all brands of PMR446 radios must use the same basic 8 channels, users are more likely to encounter "interference" from other PMR446 walkies nearby.
